Several major news unveiled in the fourth beta version of the browser.
Mozilla came yesterday with Firefox 4 beta 4, a new test version of the browser that is scheduled to be launched before Christmas.
There are two news that Mozilla is focused on the presentation of the new beta version - Firefox Sync and Panorama.
Firefox Sync will in many ways offer the same as Firefox extension Xmarks, but with some additions. The feature makes it possible to synchronize user data between Firefox installations on different machines, including certain mobile phones.
The data are exchanged, the bookmarks, history, the Awesome Bar, passwords, form data and open tabs. It all happens via a Firefox Sync account that you can create from the new beta. All data is encrypted before being sent from the user's machine.
Firefox Panorama is the name of a functionality that will make it easier for the user to relate to many open Web pages at once. Previously, this feature called "Tab Candy." From a new button in the Firefox window, you will come to an interface where you can group tabs, about which one can group software on virtual desktop, depending on what tasks they want to do there and then.
This makes it possible to have many more tabs open without losing track, while quick access to tabs that you yourself think belong together.

Mozilla also focuses on making the browser much faster than before. This applies especially JavaScript performance, which in part will be based on the JIT engine (Just in Time) Jäger Monkey. A page that shows the performance development so far, found here.
An upcoming news that only the Windows version of Firefox 4 is Hardware accelerated support for 2D graphics. This is based on Direct2D in Windows. Support for this is not yet enabled in the beta, but a recipe for how to do this, is here.
There are also a bunch of news for Web developers. Information on these can be found on this page.
